Breaking barriers and building futures

The Westminster Later Life Lending Summit returned to the heart of Westminster on 13 May 2025, bringing together up to 350 professionals from across the mortgage, financial planning, and later life lending sectors. As the sector’s leading event, the Summit continues to grow in scale, impact, and influence, highlighting the critical role of later life lending in unlocking property wealth and supporting financial wellbeing in later life.

This year’s theme, ‘Overcoming Barriers: A Vision for Property Wealth and Later Life Lending’, set the tone for a day of meaningful discussion, expert insight, and sector collaboration. The agenda explored key challenges across regulation, policy, industry practice, and consumer vulnerability, with a clear focus on removing barriers to access and deliver better outcomes. A major highlight of the day was the launch of a groundbreaking economic study, produced in partnership with Fairer Finance, which redefined the concept of later life and showcased the financial and social benefits of leveraging property wealth to support ageing populations.

Lead sponsors Adlington Law and Aviva were instrumental in supporting this year’s Summit, helping to shine a light on the innovation, expertise, and collaboration that are shaping the future of the sector. Delegates had the opportunity to explore a busy exhibition, engage in knowledge-sharing through plenary and breakout sessions, and connect with key voices from across the industry.

Reflecting on the Later Life Lending Summit’s evolution, 2025 also saw the launch of the ‘Introduction to Later Life Lending Workshop’, a new, dedicated stream designed for professionals entering or building their careers in the sector. The workshop provided targeted education, practical tools, and invaluable networking to help build the next generation of confident, capable later life lending specialists.
