Responsible Life and The Telegraph embark on educational programme

Responsible Life and The Telegraph have joined forces to launch an educational campaign promoting the benefits of lifetime mortgages.

The campaign, based around a comprehensive guide to equity release, has so far seen over 13,000 requests for the guide, with 5,500 of those coming in June alone.

The educational programme is designed to highlight the many uses for a lifetime mortgage, from the more common to the rare but growing trends in the market.

So far, online and print editorial & advertorial features have covered:

  • Silver splitters and the role of ER in divorce trends
  • School fees, university tuition and vocational training
  • Long-term care
  • Home improvements
  • Consumer spending
  • Inheritance tax and gifting to loved ones

The online features have been read by over 210,000 consumers looking to learn more about how lifetime mortgages can be a positive in their life.

Steve Wilkie, Managing Director of Responsible Life said:

“The interest in this programme has been phenomenal and goes to show the latent demand for products that do exactly what a lifetime mortgage does.

The programme is good for the market and all advisers within it. When consumers work out what a lifetime mortgage does, and more importantly, what it doesn’t do as per the myths, then we’ll see a significant growth curve as more people consider the long term merits.”
