Further details will be announced very soon.

We are pleased to announce that a reception for Council members will be held in the House of Commons on Monday 9 July. Registration details will be announced shortly.

Over the next quarter the team will be speaking at:

New Horizons events hosted by Later Life Academy throughout 2018. These sessions will examine how advisers can best support the needs of older customers. Topics include estate planning and marketing and business development. Council representatives will present and be available for quesitons.

The Society of Licensed Conveyancers (SLC) and the Bold Legal Group (BLG) have invited the Equity Release Council to present at their spring roadshows in Birmingham 9th May, Bristol 15th May, Leeds 22nd May and London 5th June.

The Roadshows attract over 50 conveyancing solicitors and licensed conveyancers at each location, the great majority of whom are the decision makers in their firms in respect of conveyancing. The events focus on high level issues and opportunities for conveyancing lawyers rather than technical legal matters, particularly those issues that are topical.

Simon Law, the Chairman of the SLC said ‘the growth in the equity release market over the last few years is likely to continue, and it is increasingly important that conveyancers are equipped to serve their clients who wish to take advantage of these products. We are delighted that the ERC have agreed to present at the SLC/BLG roadshows this year, and I am sure that there will be considerable interest amongst the delegates about this subject.

Any ERC member interested in attending is invited to e-mail [email protected] or call 08714 237193 and ask for Ania.

Pure Spring Term Webinars for advisers, offer a wealth of information from the experts in equity release, with all the latest updates to make the most of the opportunities within this growing market.

The webinars will give an insight into the latest updates, predictions and opportunities within the equity release market. Webinars are free to view and offer CPD Accreditation.

The National Later Life Adviser Conference 2018 – 21st June, Gloucester

The Equity Release Council are delighted to sponsor the launch of the inaugural NATIONAL LATER LIFE ADVISER CONFERENCE, to bring together a selection of leading speakers in their field, all to do with working and supporting older consumers. With lunch and refreshments provided, this event offers a worthwhile opportunity to broaden your knowledge if you are dealing with older clients. Structured CPD will be available to attendees.

As Advisers we face constant change, and as businesses we must balance between delivering quality advice and making sure it is commercially right for us.

Pension Freedoms, Care funding challenges, Equity Release & Later life lending growth as well as the growth in funeral planning, savings , LPA’s and Wills are driving developments in products, technology and consumer engagement. Wrapped around all of these are Political challenges and economic issues, as well as our responsibilities to understand capacity and demographic challenges.
