Money Age has covered Key’s new research, which found that scrapping stamp duty for last-time buyers would encourage older homeowners to downsize. The research found that 45% of over 55s would consider moving if stamp duty was removed for last-time buyers. Will Hale, CEO of Key Retirement, is quoted in the articles highlighting that downsizing is an emotive issue and increasingly people are looking at suitable properties to support their later-life. He also suggests people increasingly look to equity release to buy their retirement home.
